No Homo?

 There is a slue of verbal phrases that come & go in the young community, some are comical, but for the most part they're all absurd and wouldn't be caught coming from my lips.  One however, is so ridiculous and offensive, every time I see it I want to gouge my eyes out.

In an effort to ensure that everyone around you knows that you're NOT a homosexual, before or after you pay someone of the same sex a compliment you have to say "No Homo,"  which in my opinion only affirms your sexual insecurity.  Seriously? That is ridiculous.  Not to mention, a huge insult to the homosexual community. The comment insinuates that homosexuality is some sort of contagious disease that you can catch. It wouldn't at all surprise me if some folks believed that. The ignorance is astounding.

From what I hear the term originated from the rap community (no surprise there) ::eye roll:: Why is there so much negativity radiating from the rap community? Furthermore why are there so many people blindly following these trends? Someone even told me they heard a gay person say "no homo" ::sideways look::

I am beyond appalled at this "new" verbal epidemic. If you haven't heard it, consider yourself lucky. I swear my generation never ceases to disappoint me.
