Happy Birthday Gavin, Love Mommy

It's hard to look back and see how swiftly time passes us by. On this day 2 years ago I gave birth to this tiny (well not so tiny 8lbs 14oz) miracle we named Gavin. He was small and helpless and perfect. Now, 2 years later he is still pretty small but definitely more independent, self-sufficient and absolutely still perfect (in my eyes anyway) Sometimes we have our toddler battles like when he rather watch an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba for the 40th time than eat his breakfast, but those are minor hurdles that I brush off in favor of whatever makes him happy.

No one ever tells you that parenting is the hardest job you'll ever have. You will often hear a new parent say that it is the best thing that has ever happened to them, I cannot attest enough to how true this statement is. You will never in your entire life as long or short as God allows you to dwell on his green earth feel a greater sense of love than you do for the human being that you give life to.  However, along with the unconditional love and sympathy you acquire comes a serious sense of overwhelming fear. For now you have a human life that depends solely on you for their well being. But the reward is ever so great.

My sweet baby is 2. Boy, how time flies. I wish you all the love and happiness in the world my dear Gavin, I'd sacrifice my life for yours in a heartbeat and I'll do my very best to ensure you have the skills and lessons to lead the best life possible.

Mommy.
